The install of Photoshop Elements, followed by the install of Premier Elements took a few minutes perhaps 10 minutes total and I did not have any errors or failures.

Because other reviewers mentioned install problems on Mac OS, I watched the console messages during install. I really like the new guided edits in Photoshop Elements. They are fun and very easy to use and I have created some results in just a few minutes. These new for me features are really outstanding bonus to a great tool I have used for a number of years.

While I usually use Expert level, using guided edits is fast and very fun. I find myself tinkering with the editing tools to create very special photos of my grandkids. For my first project, I took a color photo of my grandson, turned it to black and white except for him and then editing to remove school names and other personal information from the photo. I am new to Premier Elements, but it has all the features I need to edit my videos and I am looking forward to experimenting more in the coming months using many of the special effect features.

For my first project, I merged several videos of my grandson and edited the audio to remove names and other information that I would not like to make public.

I really appreciated how easy it was to accomplish these tasks. While my first projects were fairly simple, it was fun to use the updated and new software. I’ll include both the short video and the photo of my grandson. The video is from a little over a year ago when he first got the tricycle we bought for him and the photo is recent and from his third birthday with chocolate cake as evident from the photo.

Top critical review. This software had a disc that was dedicated to MacOS. I purchased it expect9ing it to be compatible. It wasn’t when I first tried to install it. My computer didn’t recognize the format at all. I put it down and tried it again later – more than once.

I tried the Windows disc just to be sure they didn’t switch the labels. My computer read it but said that this software was not compatible with my Mac MacBook Pro. I decided to try installing it anyway by dragging the files into my Applications folder.

Sure enough it worked! I no longer got the incompatible messages – no longer seeing the zero slash symbol on the Install folders. I was able to open the applications with no problems. Then I saw that I was going to have to allow a learning curve to learn how to use it. It seems simple enough but I found it difficult to manipulate the controls to do what I wanted to do.

I’m hoping that once I get used to it, the star rating will increase. I’ll check back again in a few weeks to give an update. Have used Elements 5 for several years and it is great but not compatible with Windows 10 on new computer. This version 15 has a new look and different user interface which will take a little time to get used to, but I expect it will do more than I need. Having a little trouble attaching name tags to pictures because it is different than old version If you import a lot of pictures my old catalogs would not import so I copied the pix in from a backup file and facial recognition took off and spent considerable time matching lots of faces I miss the on-computer version of the “Help” feature I have not used the Premier portion yet but will have to learn it since Movie Maker is no longer part of Windows False advertising.

I bought this because I have a couple of action cams. One is an older. MOV and this program claims to support them I can’t load them and after looking up the issue online it seems that you need to convert them with another program which is what I was trying to avoid. If you actually need the full photoshop, you already know it. The bundle pricing with Adobe Premiere makes it hard to resist and it is a good products also but lacks user direction on output formats.

This is good software for those who need graphics and filmmaking software at an affordable price. They do everything I need. Full Photoshop is overkill for me.
